What We Believe

In essential beliefs, we need unity. Eph. 4:4-6
In non-essential beliefs, we have liberty. Rom. 14:4-22
In all beliefs, we show charity. I Cor. 13:2
Grace Tabernacle is a non-denominational ministry.

"Transforming people into contagious, wholehearted worshippers and followers of Christ by experiencing a personal revelation of God's grace."

·         We believe worship is transformational in people’s lives.

·         We believe reaching beyond racial and ethnic barriers should characterize the life
     of the church.

·         We believe that lost people matter to God, and therefore, ought to matter to the      church.

·         We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is for all believers.

·         We believe that the church should be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally      pure.

·         We believe that transparency, openness, honesty, and integrity should characterize      our lives.

·         We believe pastoral care, discipleship, and relationships best happens in small      groups.

·         We believe excellence honors God and inspires people.

·         We believe that servant-hood and loving relationships should permeate every
     aspect of church life.

·         We believe that yearning for continuous growth and full devotion with the practice
of spiritual disciplines is vital to our lives.

Statement of Faith

We believe in the verbal inspiration of the scriptures and the authority of both the Old and New Testaments.

We believe man was created in the image of God, through disobedience sinned and fell,
and that the entire human race shares in man’s lost and depraved nature.

We believe Jesus, the eternal Son of God, took upon Himself the form of a man by means of the virgin birth.
Atonement for sin was made by the sacrificial and substitutional death of Jesus Christ.

We believe salvation is the gift of God by grace alone and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ,
and that this faith is manifested in works pleasing to God.

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and His priestly intercession.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Promise of the Father, our Comforter sent to convict the world of sin, which places the believer
in the Body of Christ, indwells the believer, and bestows spiritual gifts to the Church.

We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is for all believers as a definite endowment of power for service
and that spiritual giftings are vital ingredients to church life.

We believe that the ordinances of the church, by the command of Christ, are Water Baptism
by immersion and the Lord’s Supper, both of which are administered to those who are born again.

We believe in the eternal salvation of the believers and in the eternal damnation and punishment of the nonbelievers.

We believe that the consummation of all things includes the visible, personal, and glorious return of Jesus Christ,
the “Blessed Hope” of the Church.

The vision of Grace Tabernacle is to be a community of believers wholeheartedly investing our lives in the redemptive purposes of God.

Worship:  Learning to appropriately and wholeheartedly express our love and devotion to Christ. John
4:23 “The Father is looking for those who will worship Him in spirit and truth.”

Ministry:  Serving others in love through the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
1 Peter
4:10  “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others…”

Outreach:  Proclaiming the Gospel to all people in word and action.
Acts 1:8  “But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about me everywhere in
Jerusalem, throughout  Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Teaching:  Training and discipling as many as possible to be growing followers of Jesus.
2 Tim. 2:2  “You have heard me teach many things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses.  Teach these great truths to trustworthy people who are able to pass them on to others.

Fellowship:  Living in loving, supportive, and accountable relationships with brothers and sisters in Christ.
1 John 1:7 “But if we are living in the light of God’s presence, just as Christ is, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from every sin.”
